Advanced Tickets with Assigned Seating

Sometimes you know a particular movie or screening time is going to be busy, and you buy advanced tickets to ensure you can get in. The issue is you are not assigned a seat, which means you can end up with lousy seats and/or your party gets split up because you cannot get seats together.

 

Why don't the cinemas offer assigned seating. They could charge more for it, as they do for buying any advanced ticket.
